The District of Muskoka (the Pines) along with the three long term care homes in Muskoka (Fairvern, Muskoka Shores and Muskoka Landing) are hosting a “Care Career Expo” next Thursday, May 27 from 1 to 4 pm. We are wondering if you can share this high school students of Muskoka and possibly your colleagues who might suggest it to their students.
The first hour or so will a virtual stage event where we have a number of speakers to talk about how Long Term Care isn’t just about nursing and the other types of careers we have available. We will also have a ‘staff unplugged’ session that will have current staff talk about why they love long term care, specifically staff who’ve grown with the Pines starting as a Resident Care Aide with no health experience to now being a PSW. Conestoga College is also going to join and speak to their PSW program partnership.
