Fleming College updates

We would like to take a few moments of your time to share some Fleming College updates.
Virtual Program Information Sessions:

  • Students will have the opportunity to connect LIVE with faculty, and our Recruitment and Admissions team members to learn more about fall 2021 program delivery.
  • These sessions will be recorded and available for viewing after the session is complete.
  • Encourage your students to register here.

UPDATE – Trades Programs Admission RequirementsStarting September 2021, the Trades Techniques programs will require Grade 11 (C) math. Trades Technician programs will require Grade 12 (C) math. We encourage students with Grade 12 (C) math to apply directly to the Technician level programs.  Employers are increasingly seeking graduates with a diploma program vs. a certificate and this will ensure that students secure a seat in a highly sought-after program.
Students entering the Techniques program will no longer be able to seamlessly enter semester 3 of the Technician program. They will be required to have a minimum grade of 55% in math to move to the Technician program and applications will be considered on an individual basis.
1:1 Advising:

  • Do you have students who are considering Fleming College, but are not sure where to start? Our Student Recruitment Team is offing 1:1 Advising Sessions, designed to support your students from researching their program options to submitting their application. Book a 1:1 Advising Session with a member of the Student Recruitment Team here

Spring Eastern Region Virtual College Panel:

  • The ever-popular Spring Eastern Region Virtual College Panel is well underway. By attending this panel, students will get information about college programs, the application process, important dates, and deadlines to help prepare them to apply to college.  We will be discussing workplace pathways, college degrees and diploma-to-degree opportunities, therefore we would like to encourage workplace, college and university-bound students to join us.
  • The Eastern Region Colleges include Algonquin, Durham, Fleming, Loyalist and St. Lawrence.
  • Registration is open for the following upcoming dates:

NEW – College offers being released in November!

  • For the September 2022 to August 2023 academic cycle, colleges will begin rolling out offers of admission on November 1, 2021
  • For Nursing and Paramedic programs, Fleming College will wait until February 1 to assess applications. The May 1st confirmation deadline date remains the same.

If we can offer any additional support, please feel free to reach out to me directly.
Stay safe!

Student jobs with Ontario Parks

Hi there,

As you may be aware, Student jobs with Ontario Parks are now posted on Ontario Go Jobs (https://www.gojobs.gov.on.ca/Preview.aspx?Language=English&JobID=158507).

Algonquin Provincial Park is hoping to recruit locally as much as possible so that students can live at home and travel to their work location. As Bracebridge and Muskoka Lakes Secondary School is generally within commuting distance from Algonquin, I was wondering if you could please help us promote the Student Park Ranger positions?

I have attached a copy of the hiring poster for you to share, however you think is best. I have also posted about the positions on our social media channels if sharing over social media is preferable over the poster.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you very much for your help,

Helen
